The Game Within The Game
Putting accounts for nearly 40% of the strokes in a typical round of golf, yet it is often the most neglected area of practice. A brilliant tee shot and a crisp iron approach can be instantly ruined by three-putting. Putting coaching focuses on the three pillars of a successful stroke: starting the ball on your intended line, controlling the speed, and reading the green correctly.
Skills Covered in this Program
- Setup and Alignment: Ensuring eyes are correctly positioned and the putter face is square to the target line.
- Face Control at Impact: The putter face dictates 90% of the ball's starting direction. We use gates and aids to ensure a square strike.
- Pace Control (Lag Putting): Developing a reliable tempo and stroke length system to eliminate three-putts from long distances.
- Green Reading: Understanding slope, grain, and how gravity affects the ball at different speeds.
The Coaching Approach
Putting requires immense precision. We evaluate your stroke path (arc vs. straight back and through) to ensure your equipment matches your tendency. We focus heavily on speed control drills, as poor speed makes green reading irrelevant. You will leave with a specific warmup routine and calibration drills to use before you play.
